COVID-19 Update - March 20, 2020
Dear Campus Community,
I am reaching out to you before classes resume on Monday, March 23. After an unexpected, but extended spring break, we are excited to begin delivering remote classroom instruction at EKU.
Other updates to note:
University housing move out and placement operations are in full swing. Please refer to the FAQ section of our website for more information.
A student emergency fund called the Student Assistance Fund for Eastern (SAFE) is up and running. The fund will provide short-term financial assistance to Eastern Kentucky University students who are unable to meet immediate, essential expenses due to an emergency or crisis. Several of you have asked how you can help. If you are compelled to contribute, you can make a gift to the Student Assistance Fund for Eastern here.
If you need assistance with internet access, many internet providers are offering free or discounted services. Please contact local service providers participating in the COVID-19 relief effort. Several providers are listed below.
As I stated in the video, be mindful of your emotional and physical well-being. If you need help coping with the stress, we understand. Mental health resources are available for both students and employees.
Be well and stay healthy.
Thank you all for pulling together during a time of challenges, transitions, and opportunities.
No matter where this communication finds you today, remember, we are all Colonels, and we are all members of the EKU family. Despite the challenges, we are committed to your educational future. We love when the Campus Beautiful is full of students, employees, visitors and activities. But since you can’t be here, then we will come to you. We take your education seriously and we will not let distance stand in our way. #EKUeverywhere
