Dining General Information


  • Daily health checks, including temperature checks, for all employees before start of shift
  • Schedule of mandatory handwashing. To be completed every 20 minutes with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Extra and frequent cleaning of all surfaces and items that are at higher risk of contamination
  • Addition of “floor employee” used specifically for cleaning of remaining tables
  • Use of cloth face coverings among students, faculty, and staff, as required by EKU. This should include all times in dining areas unless actively dining in. Proper social distancing should be strictly adhered to in this circumstance.
  • Implementation of all brand specific Covid Trainings/Procedures
  • Plexiglass installed at all registers across campus
  • Limiting cash transactions


  • Sanitizer stations for guests throughout dining venues.
  • Addition of mobile ordering for Starbucks and Einstein Bros. Bagels to ease congestion and aid social distancing
  • To go containers offered in residential
  • Limited seating capacity in Case Kitchen and Stratton Cafe as required for the state mandates
  • To go model only in retail locations
  • Social distancing floor stickers for lines to encourage proper distancing
  • Entrance and exit only flow for dining venues
  • Directional arrows on floor to ensure proper flow is followed
  • No self service stations outside of beverage stations or pre packagaed options
  • Increased sanitation at drink machines
  • Closing Case Kitchen for two 30 minute periods throughout the day to clean and sanitize location


  • Additional signage in highly visible locations (e.g., building entrances, restrooms, dining areas) that promote everyday protective measures and describe how to stop the spread of germs (such as by properly washing hands and properly wearing a cloth face covering).
  • Specified chemicals are designed specifically for food service environments. Diversey Quat- Sanitizer has the highest possible rating for efficacy.  Every location also maintains an inventory of Oxivir TB Wipes, a CDC approved disinfectant for the pathogen treatment of spaces that have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus.
  • All equipment utilized in cleaning and sanitation, including dishwashers, glass cleaners, chemical dispensers, etc. are checked multiple times per day for correct temperatures, concentrations and functionality.


  • Elimination of events with over 50 attendees
  • Boxed meal events are the preferred options
  • Small served or served buffet option available in certain situations
  • Model meals will be delivered to the class rooms
